curred, but finally determined they needed to take a long-term
look at a solution, which could take the company through the
next 10 to 15 years and offer scalability.
As head of the selection process, Reznicek felt SpeedBuilder Systems knew the insurance business and could address all
aspects of the insurer’s needs.
“They actually wanted to learn more about our challenges
than I think we even knew at the time,” says Reznicek.
SpeedBuilder representatives interviewed every executive
in the company from underwriting, accounting, claims, and IT
to determine each department’s perspective on the challenges
being faced. The interviews reinforced what the insurer felt were
the key issues and showed the AACC team that SpeedBuilder
was ready to help the carrier take the next step.
“You could use their solution out of the box, but they looked
to see what we needed to customize the solution and wanted to
know what we needed to see from their solution,” says Reznicek.
AACC has been live with the real-time
rating for close to a year and went live with
the rating integrated into the legacy platform
in the summer of this year.
“The first thing we completed was the
quoting platform. It’s web-based and we call it
Rapid Access, which is a quoting platform for
new business that agents can access direct-
ly to get a quote with minimal input,” says
Reznicek. “It bridges to our legacy system
and takes the place of a comparative rater.
Real time rating integrates and rates directly
through comparative raters, so we don’t need
comparative raters to program our rates. The
biggest and most complex part is the inte-
gration of the rating platform into our legacy
Reznicek admits the company had high expectations for the
project and thus far they have not been disappointed.
