Kids—they grow up so fast. It seems just yesterday that insurers’ mobile apps were mere babes in the digital woods, providing basic inquiry functionality and entertaining users with a
few games. Today, insurers are rolling out smartphone apps that
deliver video claim-appraisal capabilities, lifesaving storm alerts
pinpointed to a policyholder’s precise location, “geo-fencing” and
usage-based insurance rating, and other grown-up features that
capitalize on the latest functionality of today’s handheld devices.
